You Must Believe In Spring. By Tom

Tom In Oklahoma, U.S.A., March signals the start of spring. The air grows warmer in the mornings and the temperature is just perfect throughout the day. It’s neither too hot nor too cold.

By March, all of the trees have budded new leaves, and the ground is covered with fresh green grass and dandelions. The animals too are more active. The squirrels are glad that they can have fresh food again. The birds, which had flown south, have returned from their tropical vacations to build the nests where they will raise their families. But, March is still too early to see the frogs and turtles.

Baseball season also begins in spring for kids in Oklahoma. The parents dutifully buy  new uniforms and equipment, and the children practice 2 or 3 times a week with their  teams and everyday with their friends. During the baseball games, anxious parents cheer their children and sometimes curse at the umpire when there was a bad call.

It's February 20th as I'm writing this, and Matsuyama is having a cold day, so it's difficult to imagine what spring feels like. Perhaps you put your memories of spring away, but it’s time to dust them off and get ready for what promises to be another beautiful season. How will you enjoy the coming spring weather?
