Happy Valentine's Day! By Katie

In February we celebrate Valentine’s Day, so Happy Valentine’s Day! It is not only a day for couples to show their love and appreciation for one another,    but also friends and family. Couples usually go out for dinner and exchange  gifts. Chocolates, flowers, candy, and jewelry are common gifts that both men and women receive on this day.

Valentine’s Day is fun, but I don’t think there should be just one day that you should let your loved ones know that you care, you should let them know as much as possible! I like to send Valentine’s Day cards to all of my friends andfamily to let them know that I love and care about them.

My fondest memories of Valentine’s Day are from elementary school. The entire class would have a valentine exchange. We made our own ‘mailboxes’and made our own valentines for everyone in the class. Then on Valentine’s 　Day we would have a small party with cookies and punch and open our valentines from each other. I really enjoyed this when I was younger.  Hand-made valentines are the best because they are made for you with tender loving care! I encourage you to do this for some of your loved ones. I bet they would be very surprised!

2月といえばバレンタイン。そう、みなさん、ハッピーバレンタイン！　この日は、カップルだけがお互いに愛や感謝を示すというわけではなく、友達や家族だってそうです。カップルはディナーを食べに行き、プレゼントの交換をするのがお決まりの過ごし方ですね。チョコレート、花、キャンディ、ジュエリーなどが、男女共にこの日受け取る一般的な贈り物です。

バレンタインデーは楽しいイベントですが、愛する人にあなたの気持ちを伝えるのがこの日だけ、というのは物足りない気がします。できるだけたくさん伝えるべきです！私は家族や友達みんなにバレンタインカードを送るのが大好きです。彼らを愛し大切に思っているということを伝えたいからです。

私のバレンタインデーの一番の思い出は、小学生のときのことです。クラス　全員でバレンタインカードの交換をしました。まず、自分専用の「郵便受け」とクラス全員のためにカードを1枚ずつ手作りします。そしてバレンタインデー当日、クッキーとジュースで小さなパーティを開き、そこでお互いのカードを開けるんです。小さい頃、これが本当に楽しかったんですよ。ハンドメイドカードが何よりも一番ですよね。だって愛情を込めて作られているんですもの。あなたも、愛する人に作ってみませんか。ビックリしてくれること間違いなしです！
