Who is the Tooth Fairy? By Garth

Who is the Tooth Fairy?      By Garth

Garth

The Tooth Fairy is a mythical creature which exists in the minds of children from a variety of countries including: Australia, Canada, The U.S., The U.K., South Africa and Ireland.  According to the myth, the Tooth Fairy visits children at night and leaves the children gifts, usually money, in exchange for a baby tooth which they lostthat day.  A tooth which has fallen out is placed under your pillow as you sleep at night, and when you wake up there is money in its place! The fairy is imagined as a   pretty woman in a white or pastel dress, with lace insect-like wings, much smaller than a human being, who comes into your bed room through a window. The amount of money left is usually small, but, as you have 20 baby teeth, she ends up leaving quite a bit over time.  The tooth fairy was an important fixture in my own childhood, losing your baby teeth is not as scary when you learn that they will earn you some money!
